Adam Heisner Attorney

Adam Heisner is an employment law and personal injury attorney with GunterFirm in Fort Myers, FL. His experience as both a public defender and employment law attorney has seen him fighting against harassment and discrimination throughout his career. A former Commander with the United States Army, Mr. Heisner’s proven and hard-nosed litigating style has helped clients win cases, protect against wrongful termination, and assure their rights are protected.

Mr. Heisner began his legal career with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, where he published legal orders, maintained treaties compliance, and helped the judiciary establish rules of evidence in Afghanistan. His dedication and leadership earned him the Bronze Star Medal and a General Letter of Commendation.

His military service led to a role as an Assistant Public Defender for the 20^th Judicial Circuit, working for clients with minimal resources and limited knowledge of the legal system. He assisted with more than 1,200 cases and litigated dozens of jury trials and hearings, advocating for the most vulnerable and discriminated against.

Today, Mr. Heisner practices employment law and personal injury law with an emphasis on severe personal injuries, workplace harassment, sexual harassment, and discrimination claims. As an Army officer he especially enjoys getting Soldiers the compensation they deserve under USERRA when employers terminate or fire Soldiers because of their service. In his spare time, Mr. Heisner serves as an officer with the United States Army and is a frequent guest lecturer at the Ave Maria School of Law, lecturing on ethics, Business Planning, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Mr. Heisner is a member of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in all state courts as well as federal courts in the Middle District of Florida, and the District of Columbia. He earned his law degree from Ave Maria Law School, holds an MBA from Saint Leo University with a focus on management and human resources, and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Stetson University. Mr. Heisner is also a graduate of the prestigious Harvard Law School Master Class in Negotiation.
